Land Rover wanted a large-scale gathering that brought together Defender owners, loyalists, and aspiring drivers in a way that honored the vehicle’s heritage while celebrating its modern identity.
KRo created a multi-day outdoor festival featuring an off-road driving course, a kids’ mini Defender track, mountain biking, a rock-climbing wall, cooking demonstrations, glamping areas, and a display of 30 historic Defenders. KRo managed venue selection, production, registration, hotel coordination, vendor operations, and on-site staffing for more than 1,000 attendees. The result was a seamless blend of community, adventure, education, and lifestyle that felt deeply authentic to the Defender brand. After launching in Saugerties, NY, Land Rover partnered with KRo on a second festival outside Austin, Texas, and later expanded the program with three more events as enthusiasm and results continued to grow. Its impact was recognized through a prestigious 2023 EX Award, highlighting the activation as a standout experiential achievement.
